Who Am I?
Born and raised outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Studied and practiced law in New York City. Currently live and work in Los Angeles, California. For the last 12 years, I have developed significant experience managing projects, cases, and communications for Fortune 100 clients and governmental entities (such as Puerto Rico and the State of California) in the legal sector.I have been a practicing lawyer at two international law firms (Brown Rudnick LLP and O’Melveny & Myers LLP, sequentially) since graduation from Columbia Law School in 2012, which has allowed me to hone my skills as a communicator, manager, and a leader in fast-paced, high-stress environments.I am regularly called upon to oversee multiple teams and complex projects concurrently, while being sufficiently nimble to pivot quickly as circumstances and needs change.
My professional experience includes advising C-Suite executives, boards, Governors, and leaders of governmental agencies on legal and compliance matters across diverse industries—including technology, entertainment, retail, energy, real estate, healthcare, cryptocurrency, insurance, finance, and public policy sectors—allowing them to make more informed business and policy decisions while directing their organization’s story throughout the process.Outside of the office, I am a world traveler and foodie. I enjoy weightlifting, riding my peloton bike, playing guitar, golfing, rooting for my favorite sports teams (Philadelphia Eagles and New York Yankees), listening to podcasts, and exploring Los Angeles with my wife and our dog.I am also a lead volunteer for "I Love My City," a monthly food bank and outreach program through Zoe Church LA.
Live life with purpose, on purpose
Personal Mission Statement
I strongly believe that it's impossible to do anything great without a compelling motivation: It really doesn't matter WHAT you do (and you likely will never discover HOW to do it well), if you don't know WHY you're doing it in the first place. My WHY can be succinctly stated as a personal mission statement:To strategically align people and resources so that, together, we can enhance human flourishing. As a restructuring attorney, I was able to do this by helping Puerto Rico restructure $70 billion of debt, enabling the government to re-access the capital markets for new infrastructure projects and improved public services that will enhance the lives of residents. We were also able to save $50 billion of public pension benefits, ensuring that the Island's most vulnerable citizens can retire with dignity. In California, I was on Governor Newsom's team that created a Wildfire Relief Fund to provide wildfire victims with financial resources to help them rebuild while ensuring new protective measures are implemented to prevent future disasters. In other words, I am passionate about people and elevating organizations to maximize efficiency and productivity so they can achieve their full potential.I strive to practice servant leadership – no task is too small from the top down; even the highest executives should be willing to do whatever is necessary to get the best result for the team. And as a leader, I always do my best to understand and utilize my value and the value of my teammates to maximize our time and effort by implementing each member’s unique skillset strategically to achieve a desired outcome.
